PLEASE READ THIS!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask for clarification.
Ø Please be prompt to your lesson. Try to arrive 5-10 minutes early to ensure you receive your full time slot.
Ø Don’t expect miracles! As with anything, practice makes perfect. I can tell when students do not practice and you only hurt yourself when you arrive unprepared.
Ø Any materials (Books, tuners, stands) must be purchased by you. Some students will not need certain materials, this will vary per student.
Ø Try to practice 40-60 minutes a day. This is a minimum suggested time. The more you practice the better you get.
Ø Not all lessons will include playing; some lessons may include music theory and discussions on music in today’s society. This will be based and varied per student.
Ø Parents are encouraged to be present for children under 17. This helps the learning process when they are practicing at home.
Ø Small children MUST have parents present during lessons; I am not a babysitter or a disciplinarian.
Ø Any cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
(I am very lenient with this, but please call if you cannot make the lesson)
Make up lessons will be available if you have prepaid.
Ø I reserve the right to cancel lessons at my discretion. I am a fulltime working musician and I do travel a lot. I will attempt to notify you of cancellations in a timely manner.
Ø If there is any problem with the lesson or you are not happy with the way things are going at any point, please let me know so we can fix it. I teach every student on an individual basis based on your progress and goals. Some students want to learn to read music and others just want play. I try to accommodate to the style in which you want to learn.
Ø If lessons are in my home, please be respectful of my property and equipment.
Ø You are welcome and encouraged to record your lessons on an audio tape recorder (provided by you). Video taping your lessons are also welcome, but will add an additional $5.00 per lesson. Video equipment must be provided by you and must be cued up and ready to record before you arrive. I will not delay the lesson.
Ø I, Julian Escobedo, am not responsible for any accidents to you or damage to your personal property that may occur while at your lesson in my home.
Ø If any student becomes incorrigible, disrespects my property or me, or found to be disruptive to the learning process, I reserve the right to stop/cancel the lesson immediately and possibly drop the student permanently.
If you have prepaid lessons – NO REFUND WILL BE GIVEN FOR THIS RULE
